love is. is a long-term project in collaboration with -p a l m e r a- bergen exploring the role of love in political life. Through poetic interventions into commercial and artistic spaces, love is. questions what love can/can’t/could do within capitalism by way of love poems that take the form of visual installations.
This iteration of love is. took place on 6 billboards in bergen at the beginning of spring, 2021. It showed a love poem in English and its Norwegian translation. Following the installation, the billboard posters were ripped down overnight, a very usual act of vandalism for the area. We do not know who ripped the posters down.
