︎ Grief Listens (Roots)

Listen Gallery, Glasgow Scotland, December 23

Grief Listens was an evening with six audio/performance contributions from artists that have explored an attentiveness to sharing individual mourning with others, especially in how grief sounds through people, objects, and other relations. hosted by Listen Gallery and curated by Richard Finlay Fletcher.

Roots explored the idea of the root in relation to language and grief — considering the colonial legacy of the singular root as outlined by Edward Said and the rhizomatic roots of Deleuze and Guattari in relation to etymology — alongside personal ideas of rootedness and rootlessness in relation to the loss of a mother.
